Grandma Dot's birthday

Today is my mother's birthday and I am used to giving her a present. I think one of the nicest presents we can give her is to remember her. Here are just a few photos of her younger years...

With her sister Betty.

With a dog named Spotty.

Always a terrier!!

Reva

Last week was Reva's birthday...

And, she played in an amazing concert, combining Celtic and Andean music. Wow!!
(I'm totally nuts about pan flutes!)

(there are 2 more posts made today...)

Gators and Cotton

We travelled to FL for Michael's birthday (documented on their blog), and while we were there we all went to Wakulla Springs cause Dad hadn't been there - and it is awesome!!!
The springs come out of a huge aquafer.
Here is the boat - that close to an alligator! We had a daring pilot.
Dad took this picture of the river - a world of it's own.

We saw a lot of amazing bird fishing. They have long legs and necks so that they can walk on the bottom of the river with their beaks out of the water to breathe. Then they dive, spear a fish, hold it in their beak, throw it up, and swallow it whole. You can see the fish as a bulge in their neck. The bird in this picture is drying it's feathers.

We really were this close to the alligator. They have lots of little triangle teeth.

A row of turtles sunning. Reptiles need sun to maintain their body temperature.

On the way home, the cotton fields were in full bloom. I tried to get a good shot of them. The sides of the road look trashed, but it's just cotton.

This is a cotton field at 75 MPH.

MOM and DAD pics

We've been collecting pictures of the two of us to put in the photo album. Here are a few...

Which one of these 2 pictures is the best???? Aaron took them behind the Tallahassee Stake Center.

Messy Baby Contest

Who wins the messy baby contest????
Daddy?
or Daughter?
OK, it's not fair cause Solei had a bigger piece of cake.

But her dad had more fun taking pictures!

Question

We really enjoyed conference!
We also discovered that we can watch reruns on byu.tv. Today I felt impressed to both strengthen my family, and to watch Elder Eyring's address. Every conference there is one talk that is given just for me, and he is usually, but not always, the person to deliver it. I would like you all to respond to the question he asked (in comments section):
How has the hand of God reached out to touch you or someone in your family today?
I think we will all benefit from our responses!
THANK YOU!
MOM
