Tripping over couches

I've been searching Craig's List for weeks for a cream colored recliner that I can stand and that is comfortable. Each time I looked I kept thinking about some people we know who just moved in to their house. The other night I stopped by to see them and they had gotten all new furniture. The next morning when I searched Craig's List and they came to mind, I thought, 'Aha! I'm going to call them to see if they have a cool chair.' Guess what? They had this cream colored recliner for sale!!!!
It is now featured in our living room:

In fact, they had a whole basement full of cool furniture for sale, so I also bought this ottoman, and the next day took Jon back and we brought home a sectional couch.
So, where should we put it????
Actually, now it's the ottoman that is the culprit.
Here are 3 different options:
#1 To the left of the couch along the wall.

#2 On the end of the chaise lounge.

#3 Tucked into the couch L.

#4 Recovered and placed in the other room in front of the blue couch.

#5 Upstairs in our room in front of the old cream couch.

What are your ideas??????

For Women Only

Mammogram (stop here)
A few weeks ago I had that uncomfortable experience again, only to be called back by the doctor requesting that I go back for a more detailed mammogram. That means: lumps!!! And they could mean: cancer...
You try not to let your imagination take over, remembering, we've been through this before, and it wasn't cancer then, you know you have fibrocystic disease...
But there is always that niggling little worry amongst all your other little worries...
This morning when my husband got up at 4 am as usual, we said our morning prayer - and then he said, 'You need a blessing.' So, of course I got up and got one. It was a great comfort because it said I would live a long, long time.
I went calmly back to sleep.
The mammogram was 4 pictures taken with different kinds of smooshers. Then I had to wait for the doctor to make an evaluation. (Read all the cool February Women's magazines!) He said that I needed to get an ultrasound test. So, I went in and laid on the table and got to watch the monitor. There was a big black hole amongst my tissues - and that was great b/c that means I have another cyst, which is only a sac of liquid, my very own silicone implant! (I loved that back when I was a 32 A or B!) NO danger to my health.
Anyway, thanks to the blessing I went through the whole incident with incredible peace and good cheer. How grateful I am for the priesthood!

Politics

I managed to sleep in bed all night and not get up to look at the election returns (which would have kept me awake) but I'm just a bit too involved in all this. I've spent 2 hours on wikipedia reading bios of all these folks that we might have for a choice of President. I recommend it.
John Mc Cain has a very checkered past. His 5 years as a prisoner of war tamed him just a bit. I think the driving thing in his life is to live up to his father and grandfather despite his personality. His father was the commander of forces in the Pacific during the time McCain served in Vietnam.
Being the son of the commander probably got him through his youth, and while serving as a POW they would released him ahead of the other prisoners because of his father. He refused. I applaud him for that. It was the first really noble thing he did in his life.
He's just not at all perfect. He's had multiple affairs which he admits to and has learned from. He probably got where he is because of the McCain name and his second wife's family. But then his wife did a really noble thing and adopted one of Mother Teresa's orphans. People are such a mixture of good and bad.
Mitt Romney on the other hand has a perfect record of moral rectitude. He's a descendent of Parley P. Pratt, excelled at Stanford, BYU and Harvard, served a mission, and served as Bishop and Stake Pres. He's done miracles in managing money.
Actually, there is nothing to criticize except some versions of his record in Massachusetts. And there is a quote about some worker in the midwest that was disgruntled about a layoff when he took over a company. That's it. (He's just not newsworthy enough!)
But the biggest surprise was Mike Huckabee. Did you know that his wife's maiden name is McCain????? And, he attended Southwestern Baptist in Ft. Worth, TX - the exact same school that our local anti-Mormon Baptist preacher went to???? He dropped out. I wonder why?
He has lots of good points except for the above.
Barak Obama has a smoking addiction and still chomps on Nicorette to overcome it. He lived in Hawaii and Jakarta Indonesia as a child. He was raised by white grandparents. He plays basketball and poker. He's not perfect, but he inspires people. He will be part of the political landscape for years to come. (I secretly admire him a lot.)
Haven't read about Hillary yet. That will be interesting!!

Weekend visitors.

This weekend we had some visitors!
( I thought this might be a slightly different view of the family.)
Isaac is growing! Just look at those long legs.
And he's our cute littlest baby right now.

Michael loves to play with Nana and Papa's toys.

His cousin Solei came over too.

We went shopping to Trader Joe's. Michael got his own shopping cart - and of course had to figure out how it functioned.

We all visited Grandpa a few times. He has cool toys too. He and Michael played a been bag toss game and the score was pretty even.

Grandpa has puzzles too.

Isaac liked the toys too.

Isaac now likes doing things, not just watching things.

This is the most popular toy at Nana and Papa's house - only cost $1.48.

The boys love the noisy trucks.

And we love all of our grandkids!
