The BIG 32

For all 8 years we've lived here I've wanted to go to Dalonega, and a 32nd wedding anniversary was a good excuse to do it!
Cute town.

Great shopping!
Art & music!!!!

Guess who joined in????

We wandered west to Amicolola Falls State Park. Our destination was the lodge at the top of the mountain, as you can see in the picture.

We ate an all you can eat prime rib dinner, with this amazing view.

And here is the well fed couple...

We walked it off on the trail to the middle of the falls. Here we are:

and...

Another good memory made.

May 1978 Trip

I've been scanning slides again. Tray 14 & 15 are from an ill-fated trip we took to the temple in May 1978 to see Mike and Karen W. get married. It was a big event. All the trips we took with the Lewis resulted in multiple car breakdowns, and this trip it was our VW Minibus Camper.
Here we are in Denver staying with Wendy and Michelle.

This is the wedding party behind the Provo Temple. I was 6 months pregnant with Anna, and Kendell was 3 months pregnant with Selina.
?, Becky, K. Lyon, Kendell L., Sis. Wideman, Karen & Mike, Larry L., Scott McKee & Jon

We stayed a couple extra days in Mesa, AZ b/c that's one of the places the VW broke down. Here are Jared and his skinny dad on the temple grounds. It was HOT!!!
More to follow...

Pre-historic Images

Here are a few of your roots.
Yep, that is me with my mother and father on the back stoop.

Every year about my birthday, we drove to a photographer's studio in Easton PA and had a portrait taken of yours truly...Here are a few of them:

This was my sixth grade school picture. My dad did my hair - can you tell?

Talk about 60's! This is me in Jr. High.

And this is me in High School. Dad says he would have had a crush on me.

There are many more, but "That's all folks!!"

Texas back break

Happy Fourth of July!!!
We spent ours in Texas and lit off the great artillery Jon got in Alabama on the way.
REAL fireworks!!!!!

Here is Jimbo liting them up - just like a couple of kids!

Another of Jimbo's toys...
It came in handy for brush hogging the future play area and for pulling the van out of a hole.

Not all play...
In fact, very little play.
We painted the trailer interior b/c it rained every day.
Each paint stroke was an extremely dramatic change for the better!
3 layers covered it up.

We ripped up 2 layers of old carpet - so, so, gross. Could have been an episode of 'Dirty Jobs'.
In this pic, Wendy is actually hoeing the carpet off the particle board floor.

New flooring was very dramatic also.

Jon and Jimbo removed the old kitchen.
This is the last bit of flooring.
Gosh that old wall looked ugly with all the new stuff!!!

New cabinets from IKEA - ready to install.
Yes, we bought them at home and drove the kitchen across the South.

The finished floor from the 'master' bedroom.

The new kitchen and hallway. Needs a stove.

The new living room from the kitchen.

It just looks clean.

A sigh of relief.
Now our backs can rest.
