Spring Trek to Texas

We made out big trek to Texas this spring, along with Jared, Reva and Solei. Here are a few shots of the beautiful sping blossoms...

(Notice the swing set, one of the attractions not photographed, but listed later in this blog.)

This is a cool tree that matches the color of the trailer - oops!

Jared and Mom went on a Sunday stroll in the woods (more like a strangling crawl!)

We took Jared's GPS, cause it's so easy to get lost. We first went west to the back of the property, then north, past our property to the north edge of Jimbo's land. (Next time figure out the lattitude of our northern boundary.) The flora was pretty intense at times. We saw no fauna until this...

The trees were so dense that we decided to face the cattle and crawl through the neighbor's barbed wire fence. If you can't see it in the picture, all the cattle had long horns that rather intimidated me. They moved away, and lined up and stared at us. Then we crawled back through the barbed wire, crawled through the thicket and came out here...

This is Jimbo's pea patch - a welcome sight.

Some of the attractions:
1. Western weekend, complete with trail riders past our door. Looked fun!

2. Toys bought at Walmart. This time giant bubbles.

3. A carved bear.
4. A sea horse statue just the right size.

5. Golf cart rides. Also, lawn mover wagon rides.

6. Friendly dogs that wag their tails.

7. Goats next door and mini-goats.

8. Jimbo's stories. The first night he told us all about snakes. I almost went home when he told us he put a 5 ft. snake in the woods on our property. The second night he told us prison stories - about how he got locked in a cell and about how an angry prisoner threw sour milk on him that day. The third night we had a birthday party for Wendy.

9. Grandpa. Some things just never change.

10. Aunt Wendy.

11. Uncle Jimbo.

12. Family love.

13. Tons of work. Sorry, no pictures of that!

Home again. All packed to dash to Iowa. This is almost all that needs to go into the car.
