Hey, I DO have a life!

We have had 2 grandbabies born this year - Elisabeth Mae born in Utah in May, daughter of Sarah and Alex - and a few weeks ago Solei was born to Jared and Reva. And she was born in Brazil!!!!
Guess where grandma got to travel to?

This is me in the city of Campinas, Brasil, two hours NW of Sao Paulo. Campinas has 1.6 million people. This is actually the dangerous part, but I made Jared take my picture anyway. We bought used furniture in a tiny stuffed shop. The prices were outrageous!!!!

The yellow house behind 10 foot walls is what I call Jared and Reva's 'Frank Lloyd Wright' castle. It's all made of clay and tile and just gorgeous inside. Even the yard behind the fence is all tile. It has 2 balconies, several tiny atriums, a waterfall and an upstairs big enough to have a ward dance and BBQ. Loved living there for 3 weeks!!!

We did one real tourist trip to the town of Pedriera. They have several crafts factories (pottery and wooden items). I think all the rest of the people in the town paint designs on the wood and pottery. Then they have about 100 craft stores nestled under and among very large green hills. It is quite picturesque. At the top of the largest hill is this statue - like the one in Rio. There are 10 stations of the cross on the way up the mountain.

Here I am in front of the Campinas Brazil temple. Lovely place inside and out!!!! It was interesting to be the only English speakers...

Reva and I got ready for Solei to arrive for 2 weeks... We made these big flowers for her wall. Hope she enjoys them.

Here she is!!! The doctor says she is 'perfect'. Grandma thinks so too.
